This Baggage Policy explains how baggage allowances, fees, and rules apply when booking flights through My Flights Portal, Inc. (“My Flights Portal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1) Our Role (OTA Disclosure)

My Flights Portal is an independent Online Travel Agency (OTA) that facilitates flight bookings.

All baggage allowances, restrictions, and fees are determined solely by the operating airline and depend on the fare rules attached to your ticket.

We do not create, modify, override, or guarantee airline baggage rules.

2) Real-Time Baggage Information

Baggage information shown during search or checkout is displayed using real-time data received via our supplier API, where available. Because airline inventory and rules can change, baggage entitlements and fees may vary based on:

  • Airline and operating carrier
  • Route and direction of travel
  • Fare type (e.g., Basic Economy, Economy, Premium Economy, Business, First Class)
  • Frequent-flyer status and airline membership benefits
  • Time of purchase and promotional conditions
  • Domestic vs. international travel and connecting itineraries

Final baggage entitlements are confirmed after ticket issuance and are governed by the airline’s official policy and your e-ticket fare rules.

3) Personal Item & Carry-On Baggage

  • Cabin baggage rules—such as size, weight, and number of items—are set by the operating airline.
  • Some discounted or “Basic” fares may not include a carry-on bag or may allow only a personal item.
  • Airlines may enforce baggage limits strictly at the airport and during boarding.
  • You are responsible for verifying carry-on eligibility and cabin baggage limits before travel.

4) Checked Baggage

Checked baggage allowances and related fees:

  • Are not guaranteed unless explicitly included in the fare you purchase
  • May be charged per bag, per segment, or per direction, depending on the airline
  • Can vary by cabin class, route, and ticket conditions

Any baggage fee charged by an airline is separate from any service fee charged by My Flights Portal (if applicable and disclosed during checkout).

5) Excess, Oversized, and Overweight Baggage

Charges for oversized or overweight items are determined by the airline and may be significant. These fees are typically payable directly to the airline during check-in or at the airport.

6) Special Items (Sports, Instruments, Medical, Infant Items)

Special items such as:

  • Sports equipment
  • Musical instruments
  • Medical devices
  • Strollers, car seats, and other infant items

may require airline approval and can have special packing rules or fees. We recommend checking the operating airline’s policy before purchasing or traveling with special items.

7) Changes After Booking

If you change any part of your itinerary—such as:

  • Flight date/time
  • Route
  • Airline
  • Cabin class (upgrade/downgrade)

your baggage allowance may change under the new fare rules. Previously included baggage may no longer apply, and new fees may be introduced by the airline.

8) Airline-Controlled Fees & How They’re Paid

All baggage fees are:

  • Set and collected by the airline
  • Subject to change at any time
  • Typically payable directly to the airline (online, via the airline app/website, at the airport, or during check-in)

My Flights Portal does not control airline baggage pricing and cannot waive airline baggage charges.

9) International, Codeshare, and Connecting Flights

For itineraries involving multiple airlines, codeshare flights, or international connections, baggage rules may be applied based on the operating airline and/or the itinerary’s “Most Significant Carrier” principle (as used by many airlines).

You should verify baggage rules for each operating airline shown on your itinerary.

10) Passenger Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Reviewing baggage allowances before booking
  • Checking the airline’s baggage policy before departure
  • Ensuring your bags comply with airline size/weight limits
  • Arriving prepared to pay any applicable airline baggage charges

Failure to comply may lead to additional fees, forced bag-checking at the gate, or denied carriage—events outside My Flights Portal’s control.

11) No-Guarantee Statement

My Flights Portal does not guarantee:

  • Free baggage inclusion
  • Specific baggage limits
  • Waiver of airline baggage fees

All baggage services and final baggage acceptance are provided at the discretion of the operating airline.

12) Policy Updates

Airlines may change baggage rules at any time. This policy may be updated periodically to reflect operational, regulatory, or industry changes.
